I.M. Pei Museum

One of I.M. Pei’s most iconic designs, the museum is a point of pride in a city with no shortage of beautiful sites.

I.M. Pei, the post-modernist architect who designed the glass pyramid at the Louvre and the Bank of China tower in Hong Kong, grew up in Suzhou, and it is for this reason that he was invited to design the art museum here. (It is interesting to note, considering that he also designed the Bank of China HQ in Beijing, that IM Pei’s father was once the CEO of this bank as well as the Governor of the State Bank of China.)
