Hylandia

Inspired by the word ‘highland’, referring to the topography of the special region where Shangri-La is situated, Shangri-la Hotel group, itself named after the paradise in the novel “Lost Horizon”, incorporates local Tibetan themes in this downtown hotel.

Because it would have been ludicrous to have Shangri-La hotel group’s Shangri-La hotel in Shangri-la, their hotel was named Hylandia instead, referring to the highlands of the area’s topography. Hylandia is a large downtown hotel with Tibetan accents.
